As August comes to an end, the morning and evening breezes carry a subtle hint of autumn.
Our socks have worked hard this summer, protecting our feet from intense sunlight and perspiration.
Before stepping into the next season, why not give them a little care so you can wear them comfortably again next summer?
In this feature, we share daily care and storage tips for your summer-favorite cotton, linen, and silk socks, along with our recommended classic styles to bridge the changing seasons.
01. End-of-Summer Care & Storage Guide by Material
All of our socks—including cotton, linen, and silk styles—can easily be machine-washed in a laundry mesh bag.
Here are a few thoughtful tips to keep their natural textures beautiful and help your favorite pairs last even longer.
Cotton: Thoroughly Refreshing Sweat & Oils
Washing:
[Standard] Turn the socks inside out, place them in a laundry mesh bag, and wash on a standard machine cycle.
[Extra Care] If you are concerned about sweat or sebum buildup, gently press-wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent to cleanse deep into the fibers.
Drying: Hang in the shade with the elastic cuff facing upward. This prevents excess moisture weight from pulling on the cuff, keeping the elasticity intact.
Storage: Ensure the socks are completely dry before storing them in a well-ventilated space to prevent damage from residual moisture.
Linen: Preserving Crisp Texture & Preventing Wrinkles
Washing:
[Standard] Place in a laundry mesh bag and wash in the washing machine.
[Extra Care] To maintain the crisp texture and minimize strong creases, use a short spin cycle (around 1 minute) or select a delicate/gentle cycle.
Drying: After spinning, gently pat the socks with your hands to smooth out wrinkles, shape them, and hang to dry in the shade.
Storage: Linen is sensitive to moisture, so store in a dry, well-ventilated place. They will greet you with their delightful crispness again next summer.
About Natural Fiber Shedding in Linen & Recycled Cotton
Natural fibers derived from plant stems, such as linen, and recycled cotton spun from shorter fibers (like our Silk Cotton Plain Socks) naturally shed fine fibers—especially during early wears.
With darker colors, you might be surprised to find some fibers on the soles of your feet after taking them off. While shedding gradually reduces as you wash them, it will never completely stop due to the inherent nature of plant-based fibers.Over repeated washings, these shed fibers may also accumulate inside the toe area of the socks.
When you notice this, simply turn the socks inside out and gently pluck them away with your fingers. This shedding is a natural testament to authentic fibers crafted from nature's blessings.
We hope you brush them away lightly and warmly embrace them as part of the unique character and living charm of natural materials.
Silk: Gentle Cleansing to Nurture Delicate Fibers
Washing:
[Standard] Place in a laundry mesh bag and machine wash using a neutral delicate detergent (wool/silk wash).
[Extra Care] Silk is delicate and sensitive to friction and alkalinity. To preserve its smooth moisture and texture longer, hand washing or a gentle/delicate cycle is recommended.
Drying: Direct sunlight can cause yellowing and fiber deterioration, so always dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Storage: Silk dislikes moisture; wrapping in breathable, non-woven fabric or storing in an airy space is ideal.
